several years ago i had the idea for what i thought would be an evolved, editorial style blog with a fresh perspective that cut through the layers of street style and the politics of print. in that time, i wrote a total of less than 10 posts, feeling uninspired and deeply unsure of my ability to position myself as an expect on anything, despite a decade’s worth of experience.
recently, i revisited my days in fashion with a new colleague and thought perhaps after a long tom ford-style hiatus, i can finally come back to a long held love. i’ve spent nearly all my life tracking trends, making copious notes about emerging designers, stores to shop, inspirations to remember, and scrapbooks overflowing with tear pages glued together through my editorial eye…i was hopelessly in love with the anthropological imprint of clothes and accessories and developed this encyclopedic recall of details learned from the likes of elsa klensch and jeanne beker and tim blanks.
i still have a compulsion to create and to bring new words to an old conversation, and i hope e for editor can somehow be that forum, even if it’s just for me.
but, obviously, it’d be really nice if other people were into it, too.
